6. Internationaler First Vienna Hallencup 2017 was organized by one of the best girls football clubs in Austria – First Vienna FC 1894. The games were divided into 3 age categories: U11, U13 i U15.
Diamonds Academy teams took part in 2 oldest categories. 25 teams from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia took part in the whole tournament.
Report from U15 tournament (year 2002 & younger)
In a group stage our girls competed with First Vienna FC I, FC Altera Porta, MFFV 23 BWH Horndlwald and FC Sopron.
Three victories and one draw gave us 2nd place in a group and guaranteed us a semifinal.
Unfortunately, after the whole day tiring tournament and only one substitute they did not have strength as in the beginning and they finally occupied 4th place in whole tournament.
The most important thing is that our players haven’t given up even for a moment. They fought for every ball giving 100% of themselves in every minute of the match.
Coaches are really proud of their team.
What is more, we got 2 individual prizes:
ZUZIA – THE BEST GOALIE OF THE TOURNAM
MATYLDA – NAJLEPSZA ZAWODNICZKA TURNIEJU
Short statement of team’s captain – Ola:
” I think that Vienna tournament was a successful one. Everyone was focused on the game and fought to the end. We all left our hearts on the field. I think that even this Cup is not worth as much as we look on our game, on our team that we were there and we still are, on how we supported each other and motivated ourselves in the worst moments, on how hard work we did and how we cared about winning. We proved that if you want something really much you can accomplish it even if you play 7 matches with one substitute. This whole trip learned us a lot and showed us that we are all DIamonds family. I hope that we gave also our Coaches a reason to be proud of us and a reason to smile because they also did a hard work.”
Report from U13 tournament (year 2004 & younger)
The level of the tournament was really balanced.
In a group stage our team had lost 2 matches and had 1 draw.
It did not present us an opportunity to advance a high spot or to play in semifinals.
In the last game against FC Sopron from Hungary our team had its win which was a must to occupy 9th place.
In first few matches our players played a very nervous football which gave them a certain result.
The participation in the tournament was a precious experience and lesson which will for sure bear fruits in the future.
Short statement of team’s captain- Dominika:
“It is not satisfactory outcome, because we know that all the matches were winnable. The fixtures were really balanced and there were not teams that were much stronger than us. However, we lacked something to win. There was no concentration, no attempts and no confidence. I think that the reason of it may be the fact that it was our first international tournament.”
Thank you for support and positive energy!
Apart from the sports challenges our girls had also a time for sightseeing.
Next year we are coming back STRONGER!
